The Weathervane Foundation held a successful silent auction fundraiser and dinner at Shirley Acres in northwest Houston on January 31, 2009, featuring an original performance by the Lineage Dance Company of Pasadena, CA, titled "Expressions: Embracing the Qualities of Life: Beauty, Courage, and Beyond."
During the performance, a live artist sketched the qualities of life on stage. Fran Padgett, author, artist and executive director of the Weathervane Foundation, exhibited and auctioned some of her paintings and also spoke during dinner on the subject of the innate goodness of people. Fifty people attended, including nine from the breast cancer support group Care, Share, and Be Aware (Houston Northwest Medical Center). All proceeds have been dedicated to breast cancer research and support.
Thank you to all who attended and who helped to make this event a success.
