The First Annual Color Me Well Art Exhibit and Auction held on November 15, 2009 at The Plaza Downtown, 300 Milam, Houston TX, 77002 from 1pm-5pm, benefited The Weathervane Foundation, Inc. and a local breast cancer patient. Fundraising at the event was generated by donations from exhibiting artist sales, silent auction proceeds and raffle ticket sales.
Local Tae Kwon Do students performed, and the Harley’s Angels took part in the afternoon event.
Color Me Well was formed by Gayla Baechtold as a way to raise money for individual breast cancer patients in the Houston area. “There are so many bigger initiatives for raising money for breast cancer and I want to focus on individuals.” says Baechtold. “This event is a way to help our friends, sisters, mothers…all of those special women in our lives, by rallying together as a community.” To learn more about the event, visit www.colormewell.wordpress.com or email .
